A Love Offered to the World”

Main Text: John 3:16

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Introduction

Today we live in a world where many people say, “All religions are basically the same.”But when we honestly study the teachings about God in Christianity and Islam, we discover there are major differences — especially concerning love, salvation, grace, and relationship with God.

This message is not about hating Muslims. Christians are called to love all people. But loving people also means telling the truth about Jesus Christ.

Jesus did not say:

“I am one of many ways.”

He said:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” — John 14:6

1. Jesus Offers Love to the Whole World

Christianity: God Loves Sinners Before They Follow Him

The Bible says:

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8

Notice this carefully:

  • Jesus loved us before we obeyed Him.

  • Jesus loved us before we repented.

  • Jesus loved us while we were broken, sinful, and lost.

John 3:16 says:

“God so loved the WORLD…”

Not just a chosen tribe. Not only the obedient. Not only the righteous. The WORLD.

That means:

  • the addict,

  • the prostitute,

  • the liar,

  • the thief,

  • the doubter,

  • the outcast,

  • the religious hypocrite,

  • and the person far from God.

Jesus stretches His arms to everyone.

2. In Islamic Teaching, Allah’s Love Is Conditional

In Islam, Allah is described primarily as merciful and compassionate, but his love is generally directed toward those who obey him.

For example:

  • Quran 3:31-32 teaches that Allah loves those who follow and obey.

  • Quran 2:195 says Allah loves those who do good.

  • Other passages say Allah does not love unbelievers, sinners, or the proud.

The emphasis becomes:

  • obey first,

  • submit first,

  • prove yourself first.

But Christianity teaches something radically different:

Jesus loved us BEFORE we could ever earn it.

That is the power of grace.

3. Jesus Became God With Us

Another major difference is this:

Allah Remains Distant

In Islam:

  • Allah does not become human.

  • Allah does not enter suffering.

  • Allah does not personally sacrifice himself for humanity.

But Christianity declares:

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us…” — John 1:14

Jesus stepped into our pain.He walked among sinners. He touched lepers. He wept with the grieving. He suffered on the cross.

Jesus is not distant.

He is Emmanuel:

“God with us.”

4. Salvation Through Grace vs Salvation Through Deeds

Christianity

The Bible says:

“For by grace are ye saved through faith… not of works.” — Ephesians 2:8-9

We are not saved because we are good enough. We are saved because Jesus was perfect in our place.

The cross says:

“You could never reach God on your own, so God came down to you.”

Islam

Islam teaches salvation through submission, obedience, and the weighing of deeds.

But Christianity says:No amount of good works could erase sin completely.Only the blood of Jesus can do that.

5. Jesus Calls Us Children — Not Merely Servants

Jesus taught believers to pray:

“Our Father…”

That is intimate language.

The Christian faith is not merely about fear and submission. It is about adoption, relationship, and love.

The Bible says:

“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God.” — 1 John 3:1

Jesus invites us into relationship.

Not slavery.Not uncertainty.Not endless striving.

But relationship.

6. The Cross Reveals the Heart of God

The greatest difference between Allah and Jesus is the cross.

The cross tells us:

  • God loves sinners.

  • God forgives enemies.

  • God sacrifices Himself.

  • God pursues humanity.

Jesus did not stay far away from our suffering.

He entered it.

He bled for us.

He died for us.

And three days later, He rose again.

Conclusion

The message of Jesus is unlike any other message in the world.

Religion says:

“Work harder to reach God.”

Jesus says:

“I came to rescue you because you could never save yourself.”

Religion says:

“Earn love.”

Jesus says:

“I loved you before you ever chose Me.”

John 15:13 says:

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

Muhammad died and stayed in the grave.

But Jesus Christ rose again.

And because He lives, there is hope for the entire world.
